We are a small team building the humanitarian data infrastructure the world needs — one that puts the dignity and agency of people at its centre.
We believe that the right to a recognised, portable digital identity is a fundamental human right — not a privilege determined by where you were born or which crisis displaced you.
On Equal Ground (OEG) is building Granite — a shared, consent-first data infrastructure for humanitarian contexts. Our platform enables individuals to own their records, navigate service systems without re-registering endlessly, and access aid based on verified need rather than proximity to a specific organisation.
For organisations, Granite eliminates the fragmented, duplicated data systems that drain budgets, delay assistance, and leave people invisible to the very networks meant to help them.
Abraham leads the technical architecture and engineering of the Granite platform. With a background in software engineering and a focus on building at the intersection of technology and social impact, Abraham designed Granite's consent-first data model, the OEG unique beneficiary identifier (UBID) system, and the mobile-first infrastructure that makes the platform work in low-connectivity environments. He is deeply committed to building systems that are as durable and dignified as the people they serve.
Alvaro brings deep experience in humanitarian strategy, organisational development, and field operations. He has worked alongside organisations navigating displacement, food insecurity, and health crises across multiple regions. His vision for OEG is rooted in a direct understanding of the data failures that leave people unserved: duplicate registrations, siloed information systems, and the systematic exclusion of beneficiary voice from decisions that shape their lives. Alvaro leads OEG's partnerships, strategy, and growth.
We're always open to conversations with humanitarian organisations, funders, field practitioners, and technologists who share our belief that better data infrastructure saves lives.
